- Originally from a very small town in British Columbia, we are now living in Almaty, Kazakhstan, a city of 1.5 million. Dave is an English teacher, Edna is the school's Financial Officer, Kyla is in Grade 3, and Cody is in Grade 1. This is our second year here. hi guys, first of all we want to wish Cody a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (sorry, by the time you get this his birthday may be over) Glad to hear that you are getting somewhat settled, and have a roomy place. How's work going Edna? and is the school close by your apt? Are things anything like you imagined, school, area, etc.? Look forward to hearing updates once in a while, along with some pictures. We've had another busy weekend, we drove up to Chase to see Jamie& Sarah's new baby. They had a little boy on Sat., Aug. 16. 6lbs.7oz, his name is Martin Philip. That makes no. 3, it's awesome!
